About this spot
Coventry Cathedral was originally built in the 14th C but was destroyed during the bombing of Coventry in World War II. The present cathedral, known as the Cathedral Church of St. Michael, was built alongside the ruins of the old cathedral in the 1950s and consecrated in 1962. It is known for its modernist architecture and for being a symbol of peace and reconciliation.
