About this spot
The cove of Pors Kamor (also called wedge of Ploumanac'h or Portz-ar-Mor) is the only place always afloat of Ploumanac'h, its inner port being accessible only at high tide.

It has housed the hold and the building of the SNSM lifeboat since December 22, 1912, when its first lifeboat, the Commandant Gentil, was launched. At the time, a second rescue station existed at Linkin, in Perros-Guirec, but it was destroyed during the Second World War.

The current building dates from 1948, the old rescue shelter was destroyed during the Second World War, at the same time as the canoe Félix William Spiers. The rails that receive the cradle of the lifeboat take their starting point in the shelter, from a winch. The slipway was built along the axis of the building, as an extension of this railway line. Originally, this ramp was 90 meters long; following several extensions, it now measures 113 meters. The slipway can be used at all tidal coefficients.
