About this spot
Limeuil is located where the river Vézère flows into the Dordogne in the Perigord. The village is perhaps one of the oldest still inhabited place in France because here are things found from people who hunted reindeer and mammoths at the end of the last ice age.
The village is located in the Perigord Poupre region, so named after the leaves of the vines that turn purple in autumn.
