About this spot
This baroque church was built in 1733 when the previous church was not big enough for the growing number of pilgrims coming here.
In 1945 it was hit by Soviet Red Army missile and caught fire and during the next years it was decided that it will be demolished. Thankfully, the money for the demolition was used somewhere else and in 1992 it was added to the cultural heritage list.
New era begun in 2003, when the reconstruction started.
The most famous part of the reconstruction, the glass roof, was added in 2007.
