About this spot
The Catherine Creek Recreation Area in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is one of the premier spring wildflower viewing sites in Washington. A former ranch, the site was acquired by the Forest Service, to protect native plants, an unique rock arch formation, and other sensitive resources.

From the parking area, there are several trails available, each with different views. This spot describes the Catherine Creek Lower Loop Trail (Trail #4411) also known as the Universal Access Trail (since it is paved and wheelchair friendly - note, there are some sections where the grade is about 10%, making it possibly difficult for some).
