About this spot
In late fall and winter months are special at the refuge due to it being on the Central Flyway for migrating waterfowl and other species of birds.This creates quite an unusual combination of mountain scenery and wildlife in now place. Access is easy and there are refuge roads open all winter to allow you to reach some of the best bird photography I have ever experienced.
