About this spot
The fantastically preserved 14th-century former theological college in the heart of the souks is a fascinating and intricate representation of Islamic architecture, and is one of Marrakech's most picturesque buildings. For more than four centuries, it housed as many as 900 students, a very impressive feat considering many of the building’s 130 student dormitory cells are so small you have to crouch down to enter.
