About this spot

Ashness Bridge is probably the most photographed bridge in the Lake District. situated along the Borrowdale valley just outside of Kewisk it is right next to a parking area. The bridge provides views across to Skiddaw.

If you walk north from the car park you reach Surprise View, a wonderful spot with panoramic views across Derwent Water.
