About this spot
Designed by architect François D'Orbay, a pupil of Mansart, the Arc de Triomphe (otherwise known as Porte du Peyrou) in Montpellier was built in 1692 in place of one of the gates of the old rampart. It is an obligatory passage to enter Montpellier from the Peyrou park.
