About this spot
The palace was built in 1897 for the Hungarian shipping company “Adria” and renamed “Jadran” after World War II. Its monumental neo-baroque facade dominates the entire port of Rijeka, and the other overlooks Piazza Adria. The building, designed by Rijeka architect Francesco Mattiassi and built by Giacomo Zammattio, is equipped with numerous sculptures by Sebastiano Bonomi that recall the world of maritime work. It still houses the premises of the Croatian shipping company Jadrolinija. the foreground.
