This sculpture depicts the legend of Zeus and Europe.

Zeus, the father of all gods, who fell in love with a princess called Europe. Zeus took the form of a white bull and approached Europe. When Europe tried to ride upon his back, he rushed into the sea and took her to Crete against her wishes. Hence, "The Abduction of Europe".
