White Nancy is a Grade II listed building and monument built in 1817 on top of Kerridge Hill. It overlooks the town of Bollington and is an icon of the area, so much so, that it is now the town’s official logo.
The monument is painted mainly white, but is often overlaid with commemorations. These are
usually to celebrate special events, such as the Queen’s Jubilee. There have also been times when it has served as a remembrance memorial such as in paying respect to those who have died in our wars.
There are expansive views from the top of the hill, looking back to the Peak District to the east and towards Wales in the west.
