Crich Stand is a war memorial and an inland lighthouse, located at the top of Crich Hill. It is dedicated to the Sherwood Foresters that died in battle, mainly during the world wars. It was constructed in 1923 and serves as a permanent place of respect and remembrance.
The lighthouse has a working beacon that
illuminates up to 38 miles and can be seen from several counties. The lighthouse is accessible for a small charge, and it is said from the top you can see eight counties on a clear day as well as landmarks such as Lincoln Cathedral and the Humber Bridge.
The memorial tower is a viewpoint recognisable to many passing by closely or even from other counties as it can be spotted easily from a distance.
