About this spot
Wolfscote Dale is a picturesque dale that the crystal clear River Dove runs through. It is located near the villages of Hartington and Alstonefield. It is roughly halfway between the start of the River Dove at Axe Edge in Buxton and Dove Dale over in Thorpe. A relatively quiet dale when you compare it to its neighbour Dove Dale, which is hustling and bustling with crowds.

Wolfscote Dale is littered with steep-sided
limestone features, flat riverside walking and the imposing Wolfscote Hill heads the top of the valley. Heading up the hill offers up one of the best examples of a limestone pavement in the Peak District, with astounding views.

Peaseland Rocks is a fantastic and secluded location towering above a vantage point where Biggin Dale and Wolfscote Dale meet, with Wolfscote Hill dividing them.
