About this spot
This headland extends a mile out from the coast and includes several opportunities for photographers and nature lovers. The lighthouse, a 93-foot tall beacon, is one of the most attractive lights on the Oregon Coast, and its classic Fresnel lens is still functional. Viewing areas surrounding the lighthouse are great for spotting harbor seals and seabirds on the cliffs and nearby offshore islands. Gray whales pass by during their annual migration. The rocky shore on the south side of the headland is excellent for viewing and photographing tide pool inhabitants like anemones, sea stars, crabs and mussels.
