Over Owler Tor hosts an abundance
of different spots.
The area below Over Owler Tor and above Millstone Edge is arguably the ultimate place for heather in the summer.
The vast moor gets ravished by an abundance of deep purple heather in late August.
Surprise View, the car park for this area is a nominated Dark Sky Discovery Site. This means that it has been officially recognised that with a mix of low light
pollution and ease of accessibility you will be free to gaze at the billions of stars in our galaxy above you. Of course, there are plenty of places in the Peak District which boast darker skies, but this little haven allows you to do so from the safety of your car.
With such a plethora of viewpoints and
different styles of images to be had it’s got to be one of the must shoot places in the Peak District. A real honeypot.
