About this spot
Carhead Rocks is a small gritstone outcrop that is overshadowed by its bigger brother, Stanage Edge. It’s a quiet but picturesque little location for those times when you just want a bit of solitude and peace away from the crowds.

It offers up some rewarding views for little effort to reach, including down the Hope Valley, over North Lees Hall and over towards Win Hill. As with a lot of gritstone edges, formations of gritstone line the edge with the most notable being the Knuckle Stone, shaped like a fist
punching the air.
