About this spot
As the name implies, Hidden Canyon is not on everybody’s radar, but it is a nice, secluded place replete with micro-landscapes. Do not let yourself be intimidated by the spectacular switchbacks leading up from the Weeping Rock parking area. The slope may be steep but the trail, about 1‑mile long to the entrance of the canyon, is in good shape and the going is fairly easy. You should know, however, that the upper part of the approach, just before reaching Hidden Canyon, can be very intimidating to people with fear of heights.

Soon after the turnoff to Observation Point, you'll find yourself skirting the edge of the canyon on a somewhat precipitous path. Fortunately, there are chains to hang on to at the most exposed spots. Once inside the canyon, things get cool and quiet in the shadow of a huge wall of sandstone to your right. This wall happens to be the side of the Great White Throne. There are some minor obstructions along the way that can be easily circumvented.
