About this spot
Formed in 1886, the Boscombe Pier Company opened the 600 foot pier on Bournemouth’s hugely popular ten-mile stretch of golden sandy beaches in 1889. In close proximity to the pier, which has an attractive retro art deco styling and known as Britain’s coolest pier, are a number of wooden groynes that add compositional options and complement the pier.
