About this spot
These bridges are actually three bridges that cross the Thames between Victoria Embankment and the Southbank. Hungerford bridge in the middle was originally a suspension footbridge designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, but reopened as a rail bridge in 1859 known as Charing Cross bridge. On either side are the Golden Jubilee pedestrian bridges, which create a striking sense of symmetry.
