About this spot
1010, pronounced “ten-ten”, is a Hamburg-based contemporary artist known for his enigmatic, op-art murals. His 3D illusionary works suggest portals into a dark abyss that inhabit our urban landscapes. This mural for The Crystal Ship art festival is also part of his ‘The Loch (Hole) Series’. World-famous and renowned artists, gigantic murals and interventions have been popping up in Ostend every year since the festival dropped in 2016. Together, this forms an artistic trail in the city center and on "Het Groen Lint" around Ostend. With a free cycling or walking plan in hand, you can explore all the works of art on your own. You will not only see dozens of gigantic works of art in all shapes and sizes, but you will also get to know the different districts and facets of Ostend during the route.
