About this spot
Swayambhunath is a large Buddhist temple complex located on a top of a hill in Kathmandu. It is nicknamed a "Monkey temple" due to a large number of macaque monkeys habitating it. It was built in 5th century and the main feature is a large white stupa with eyes on top and prayer flags.
