About this spot
Strahov library is a stunning library in baroque style. It has two separate halls which can be seen only from their door step. The Philosophical hall has a number of shelves with colourful books and ceiling. The frescoes on the ceiling are very well made. The Theological hall has a ceiling in baroque style and several Globes on the ground. The library features in the James Bond movie Casino Royale when M is summoned by her superiors to the House of Commons supposedly at Westminster, London.
Entrance into the halls themselves is not allowed unless on a special tour. See the website below.
The library is open every day from 9.00 - 5.00 but on Christmas holidays. There is an entrance fee of 120 CZK and 50 CZK for photography. If you want to make a video, the fee is 100 CZK.
