About this spot
After Hurricane Andrew destroyed the lifeguard towers in 1992, the city of Miami built a series of lifeguard towers with unique designs which are periodically repainted in vibrant colours. They are now considered icons of Miami Beach. Each lifeguard tower corresponds to the nearest street.
