Rosalia Railroad Bridge

This spot features a set of two historic railroad bridges – one crossing over Pine Creek and the other over a railroad track. The bridges are no longer used for trains, instead being converted as part of the John Wayne Pioneer Trail – a hiking/biking trail that is within the Washington State Park system.
The Rosalia Railroad Bridges were built in 1915 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. Reportedly, the railroad wanted impressive bridges at this location because they were visible from a state highway and the Northern Pacific (a rival railroad) tracks. The eastern of the two bridges crosses over these tracks. The bridges are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
