About this spot
This small cemetery was active from 1883 to 1953 and has approximately 115 people buried there. The cemetery is partially restored, though many of the headstones are missing or knocked over, and much of the vegetation is overgrown. The cemetery is on a small hill overlooking surrounding farmlands.

Reportedly, the cemetery is owned by the heirs of the Chicago department-store magnate, Marshall Field. The cemetery was listed on the Washington Heritage Register of Historic Places.
