About this spot
This spot provides a close-up view of an old, wooden grain elevator set amongst the Palouse hills. Unlike the more photographed grain elevator on US Highway 195, you need not worry about traffic at this spot.

Early grain elevators, such as the one here, were built out of cribbed wood. Because wooden grain elevators are prone to fire, later elevators were built of steel or concrete.
