Low tide gives you plenty of opportunities to scramble around the beach for compositions. I liked the way this rocky overhang framed the Cuilin Mountains across the water, as the sun set behind them.

This extraordinary rock formation was just as I found it; nothing was moved, I promise! I imagine the water at high tide has caused this amazing effect from erosion, creating a natural pestle and mortar.

This viewpoint took quite a while to reach - you have to descend the stairs and walk around the edge below the 'classic' cliffs viewpoint. The terrain is about 45 degree slope with large boulders. It's highly advisable to pause on occasion to plan your route ahead - and remember it for the return journey. Some areas are simply impassable and you have to go back, and around, and try again. This little inlet makes a great foreground element.

Taken from the steep rocky bank below the cliffs. Go down the steps and walk along the wall... climb over and keep going. Mind your step, it's very easy to trip and fall here, particularly in the dark.
