Ojstrica viewpoint

Ojstrica (611m) is a small hill at the west shore of Lake Bled. It is one of the most popular hikes around Lake Bled, mostly because of its incredible views.

Mala Osojnica viewpoint

Mala Osojnica (670m) is a hill on the opposite side of the lake from Bled castle. It offers incredible views of the lake and surrounding area. From this spot the island, castle and the Stol mountain at the back are ideally lined up.

Vintgar Gorge

Vintgar gorge is a stunning natural sight near Lake Bled. Created by the Radovna River, one of the most beautiful Alpine rivers in the area, the 1.6km walk through the gorge takes you across bridges and along boardwalks, culminating in the mighty 13m high Šum waterfall. The return walk without stopping for photography should take just under 2 hours.

Bled Lakeside Bench

The bench at the lakeside offers the best views of the island, castle and the St Martin parish church which are all nicely aligned with mighty Stol peak at the back.

Mostnica River

Mostnica river has created a stunning gorge in this lower part of Voje valley. The river itself is an incredible turquoise colour and the surrounding forest and canyon guarantee beautiful images anytime of the year. (This spot describes only the lower gorge; see Voje valley for the upper part.)

Lake Bohinj - St John's Church

From this pier you get the classic view of Lake Bohinj - the stone bridge and the church of St John the Baptist, reflected in the lake. You can also take the scenic ride with the electric boat around the lake, an enjoyable and peaceful experience.

Savica Waterfall

Bohinj Lake has numerous inflows, the most important of which is the Savica. This most famous of Slovene waterfalls is fed underground by the slopes of Komarča and the Seven Triglav Lakes Valley
The Savica runs over 38 m long level and cuts deep into a gorge 78m below. Another smaller waterfall also falls 25 m deep. Together they form a two-part waterfall in the shape of the letter A.

Peč viewpoint

Peč is a small forested hill (720m) above Lake Bohinj. It offers arguably the best views of Lake Bohinj in all seasons. Despite the beautiful views it is relatively unknown and there is a good chance you will be up there on your own - especially in the morning.

Zaka Bled Lakeside

Zaka offers the best views of Bled island with its 15th C. Church of Assumption and Bled castle plus stunning views of the Karavanke Alps. This is the point where rowing events on the lake finish and a popular place for open-water swimmers.

Vogel Ski Center - Mt Triglav views

Vogel is one of the nicest Ski centres in Slovenia. It is located above Lake Bohinj within Triglav national park.

From the ski slopes there are incredible views on the highest peaks of Julian Alps, including Mt Triglav, the highest peak of Slovenia.
