The Jakobshavn Glacier produces more ice than any other glacier outside of Antarctica. It is estimated that 35 billion tonnes of ice flows into Disko Bay every year. Greenland has already been impacted by climate change. Scientists believe the ice loss is so great the Greenland Icefield has reached the point of no return. Tour boats for Disko Bay are easily found in downtown Ilulissat and give you access to the icebergs, as well as humpback whales and many species of birds.
