About this spot
A ride on Flåmsbana, the Flåm Railroad, is considered to be one of scenic railroad trips in the world. And with good reason, the Flåm Railroad travels from end of Aurlandsfjord through a picturesque valley into the Norwegian mountains. Along the way, the train from Flåm to Mrydal station climbs nearly 850 meters past waterfalls, scenic farms, and rushing rivers. Along the way, the train stops for a few minutes at Kjosfossen, allowing passengers to get out and photograph the waterfall close up. The trip is one of the top tourist activities in Norway and takes about a hour one-way.

In 2019, the cost of a round-trip adult ticket was NOK 490 in the off season and NOK 590 in the high season.
