Although the church itself is a ruin, it is located within a cemetery which is still very much in use. Avoid disturbing people who may be here visiting the place their loved ones now rest.

About this spot
The church was built back in the 12th century, when this area still belonged to Norway. It was then known as St. Halvard's Church.
Around 1870, Ytterby gained a new church and this one was subsequently abandoned.
