About this spot
West Lydford had a church by the mid-12th century, as evidenced by the records of a priest named William. Originally dedicated to St. Mary and All Saints by 1482, it was later rededicated to St. Peter. The church was rebuilt between 1844 and 1846, following designs by Benjamin Ferrey that reflected the Somerset Perpendicular style.
