About this spot
Shirakawa-go is one of the most famous landmarks in Japan. The traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses are very iconic and some are over 250 years old. The building were made to withstand the heavy snow that can be found in the mountainous region. Shirakawa-go is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
