About this spot
Reflections of Bedford is an abstract sculpture located in the town center of Bedford, on Silver Street. Created by artist Rick Kirby, it was commissioned by Bedford Borough Council and was unveiled on December 12, 2009. The statue features two stainless steel faces that are 5 meters high and facing each other. This choice of material was chosen to pay homage to the former mint that was located on the street. The pedestal of the sculpture has blue and purple colored spotlights that illuminate the sculpture at night. The backs of the sculptures are plain and one of them has a plaque with the artist's name, the name of the work and the date it was made. It adds a modern touch to the town's art and culture.
