About this spot
Niševačka klisura is a miniature gorge (about 1.5km long) located near Svrljig town. Powerful Svrljiški Tmok river carved its meanders in the limestone. The most recognizable meander is around a pointy boulder called Banjica.
An interesting part of the landscape is the railway road which crosses the gorge with tunnels and bridges. Combination of natural and human elements makes this place special, it looks like a scale model.
Beside the geographical values this place has a rich history. The viewpoint is located on remains of the ancient Roman town of Svrljig. Nearby are old Roman roads which are now hiking trails.
