About this spot
Chee Dale is a steep-sided gorge on the River Wye in the Derbyshire Peak District of England, between Buxton and Miller's Dale. It is a nature reserve with an abundance of wild flowers, home to many species of birds with woodlands on its cliff sides. If following the riverside path, most noticeably is the stepping stones going along the river below Chee Tor. Alternatively, the Monsal Trail follows the river at a high level, crossing it on several viaducts with views down and going through a tunnel providing opportunity for long shutter speed photography.
