About this spot
The house and the garden of “la Houxaie” or Houssaye are mentioned in the oldest accounts of the town since the end of the 15th century.

The architectural details of the turret house located at n°2 date back to this period and allow it to be considered the oldest house in the city. Tradition claims that Anne of Brittany would have stayed there when she came to inspect the work of the castle.
